Are you being fooled?
Why is it when you first start a new diet and exercise program you run to the scale to see how you’re doing only to find out that you’ve gained weight.
What’s that all about? Are you being fooled? Are you being scammed?
No, you’re not being fooled and you’re definitely not being scammed. One of the most frequent questions that we get asked by our client’s is why am I gaining weight when I’m sticking to my diet and following my exercise program?
Not to worry. It’s perfectly normal to gain weight when you start a new diet and exercise program.
Picture this, one woman is 5′ tall, weighs 140 and wears a size 0, the other woman is 5’6″ tall, weighs 140 and wears a size 8. How is it that the two women weigh the same but the shorter woman wears a smaller size?
Shouldn’t she wear a bigger size?
One thing you need to know is that muscle weighs more than fat. The shorter woman has less body fat; therefore she weighs more for her height because she has more muscle.
So, not only does she look smaller she also wears a smaller size. In order to eliminate fat and replace it with muscle you need to eat a healthy diet, drinking plenty of water and incorporate an exercise program into your daily routine.
So keep in mind that when you first start a new diet and exercise program don’t be alarmed if you gain weight instead of lose.
There’s not just one thing that will guarantee your success, but a combination of everything that will give you the results that you’re looking for.
